TEA WITH A PONY (TWP)

TWP gives fulfilling and enriching experiences with horses to people living with dementia or other similar conditions. Participants can enjoy a slice of cake and cup of tea, and then have the opportunity to have a sensory experience with a pony.
Tea with a pony is an RDA activity focusing on sensory experiences with RDA horses and ponies. It was launched as part of RDA’s nationwide dementia project in response to the growing number of people living with dementia and similar conditions.

TWP will take place at our base at Manor Farm in Chilton Foliat, RG17 0TJ. We are still finalising the full details for this, but we plan to hold at least one session a month, starting after Easter and running through to September/October, depending on the weather. It may well be that we need to tailor each session to suit the needs of particular participants. We have carried out a full risk assessment and this is available if required.
