Changes to our equine team

 In Latest News

There have been quite a few changes  with our horses and ponies. We said a very sad farewell to Marmaduke, one of the miniature Shetland ponies on loan, who had recurring health issues and we will really miss him. Harley, who has been on loan with us for five years, has now retired from RDA and has gone to live in a lovely new home in Northumberland. Harley was one of our bigger horses, so we urgently needed to find a replacement for him. Usually it can take months to find a suitable horse, but this time we were extremely lucky to find a lovely ex-eventer based in Baydon. After meeting him and having him vetted, we decided to buy him, so Stan joined us on 26th July. He has settled in well and we hope to be able to use him for a few participants from the start of term.

Wilbur, who has been with us since he was 5, has gone to a great new home where he is going to have a much more varied life, including going to pony club camp, which we know he will love. We wish Wilbur and his new owner lots of years of fun together.

Finally, the two ponies who joined us in May, Lady and Bess, have been experiencing what to expect in a typical riding session, so they will both be ready to join our sessions in the new term. With seven horses and ponies we can continue to offer as many people as possible a place on one of our sessions.
